I.Description of Problem or Issue

There are many things that teens worried about when it comes to school; whether it’s picking the perfect outfit for a school photo or acing an important Calculus exam. One thing for sure is that teens are especially worried about the fear of being bullied. Bullying is an aggressive behavior that one person acts toward another person or group, as a display of power or social status. Bullying can include being picked on from other teens to receiving threatening messages on the computer. Bullying is a huge problem that affects many students on a daily basis. This is creating an environment where many students fear stepping into their own school. In extreme cases, bullies make it a job to harass students 24/7 from school to the Internet.

II.Research Summary

Jeffrey Kong- My research concerns the well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students. Based on their sex orientation, they are subject to prejudice and discrimination not only from other students but also teachers, administrators, and counselors. The learning environment has become a gay-hating environment for these gay and lesbian students. This kind of discrimination can lead to many dangers like health issues and psychological damage.

Matthew Cute - My research is concerned with cyber bullying and is prevalence in the education system. Throughout a student's academic career, they are subject to different forms of bullying. One of the most psychologically damaging forms of bullying is through electronic means such as Facebook, text messaging, and other online social networking utilities. The Internet has become a convenient tool that bullies use to extend their control over victims.

David McCann - The research i chose to do for this assignment had to do with the consequences of bullying. Bullying is a very serious issue, and can effect people not only physically, but mental as well. I broke the word consequences down into two meanings. One being the physical and mental consequences of bullying and its affect on humans, and the other being the struggle to find appropriate consequences, or punishments, for bullies.

Terry O'Neill- The research I chose to do for this assignment had to do with how students are affected when teachers play the roll of the bully. This is a serious issue that certain students will face and this can affect them psychologically, mentally and in school with their grades as well.
